Description

Orchard Dene House is likely a 17th-century house, probably originally a farmhouse. It is constructed of large timber framing with painted brick infill, with painted brick also used on the right side and to the ground floor on the left. The roof is thatched, hipped to the right and half-hipped to the left, with brick ridge stacks located left and right of centre. The house has a 2-storey, 2-window range to the right, and a single-storey-and-attic 2-window range to the left, with a cross-wing to the right rear. The windows are casements with leaded lights, arranged irregularly. A cross-wing forms the right return, with a 2-storey, 3-window range. A panelled door is located centrally. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to be of interest. This building has group value, contributing to the character of the area.
