Description

The Bull Inn is a 15th-century building that has undergone significant alterations. It is primarily timber framed with plaster infilling and features an old tiled roof. The structure has two storeys and three windows, with the upper storey showcasing three late 17th-century projecting three-sided bay windows that have half gables. Some original framing is still visible, with a round-arched centre light in each bay. The ground floor has exposed timber framing. At the rear, there is a long wing leading to a courtyard on the south side, which connects to an adjoining western wing that was formerly a barn; this part is weatherboarded and has a hipped tiled roof. The Bull Inn is part of a group of buildings that includes Nos 45, 45A, and 47, as well as Nos 53 to 81 (odd), and it forms a cohesive group with Nos 44 to 52 (even) and Nos 60 to 64 (even) opposite, along with No 2 New Street.
