Description
Croft Cottage is a row of cottages dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. The construction features limestone rubble and timber lintels, topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. The row consists of a single unit cottage alongside two-unit plan cottages, all one storey with attics.
No. 27, located on the left, has a small two-light casement window and two small two-light dormers, with the entrance situated in the gable wall. No. 29, which has been converted into three units, features a door to the right of the center between large 20th-century casement windows, with an additional casement window to the left. The left dormer has been enlarged, but two original two-light dormers remain. The roof of the row includes gable stacks and a ridge stack set on a stone base. There is also a single-storey 20th-century front extension at the extreme left of No. 29 and on the right gable wall. Inside No. 29, there is a large fireplace next to the gable entry.
