Description

This is a row of three headstones dating from the late 17th century, located approximately 20 meters southwest of Dorchester Abbey. They are made of limestone and are relatively small. Two of the headstones feature scrolls flanking skulls above recessed inscription panels. The inscriptions commemorate Elizabeth Bisley, who died at the age of 4, and Matthew A(?), who died at the age of 3 in 1683. The third headstone, which is the southernmost, has a similarly shaped but uncarved head and is inscribed with "ELIZABETH/BISLEY/1682".
