Description
The Pigeons is a house that may date back to the late medieval period but was remodelled in the 17th century. It features rendered timber framing and has an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and consists of one storey plus attics. The front is irregular and includes two entrances, 20th-century bow windows to the left and centre, and a two-light casement window to the right. There are gabled dormers in the centre and right, along with a small roof dormer on the left. The roof steps up twice to the right and has stacks located to the left of centre and at both ends. Inside, there are remains of a braced base cruck, a large inglenook fireplace, a winder stair, and a chamfered beam with decorative stops. It is noted that there may be smoke blackening in the roof, and the floors and stack might have been inserted into a two-bay open hall.
