Description
Dorchester Galleries is a substantial house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with flared headers, and features coursed clunch rubble. The roof is made of old plain tiles and has brick stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with attics.
The symmetrical front has three windows and a central six-panel door, which is topped by a rectangular overlight and framed by a pilastered doorcase. On either side of the door are canted bay windows. The first floor features three 12-pane sash windows set beneath cambered gauged brick arches. The hipped roof is adorned with three gabled dormers. The rear of the building, which is made of rubble, has a three-window arrangement and segmental-arched casements. The interior has not been inspected.
