Description

Willow Tree Cottage is a house dating to the mid-to-late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed clunch rubble with brick dressings and some timber framing with brick infill, and has an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The house originally comprised two units, with a rear outshut added later. The two-storey, two-window front features a doorway to the left of centre, flanked by wide segmental-arched sash windows. Two three-light casement windows are at the first floor level. A stepped brick plinth weathering returns to the left gable wall, facing the road, and has further casement windows in the end of the outshut. A timber-framed stair tower rises from the centre of the outshut. A brick quoin is inscribed with "IC 1781". The interior was not inspected.
