Description

Mike Offey Antiques is a house, now a shop and flat, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries, with a mid-20th century facade. It is timber-framed, with a brick front and a projection of limestone ashlar for the chimney; the roof is covered with old plain tiles and has brick stacks. The building has a one-bay plan with a rear wing. It is one storey high, with attics. The front is gabled, with a shop front and a casement window above. A central, clustered stack is present. The rear wing displays exposed timber framing to the left, featuring large panels and heavy curved braces. The chimney projection on the rear gable wall has numerous offsets and a stone lozenge datestone, set within a square, chamfered-brick recessed panel, inscribed "L/NE/1692/TL", likely indicating the date when the stack was added. The interior has not been inspected. It may have been connected to number 30.
