Description

Peacock Cottage is a house that likely dates from the mid-17th century. It features large timber framing with painted brick or rendered infill panels and has a thatched half-hipped roof with a brick ridge stack at the center. The cottage is two stories high and has a two-window range. The main front faces the rear and includes a sash door on the left, with two-light leaded casements on the ground floor to the right and on the first floor to the left and right. There has been some rebuilding from the early 19th century on the road front. The cottage is noted for having a queen post, side purlin roof with windbraces, and there is a late 20th-century addition to the right.
