Description

Ely Cottage is a late 18th century to early 19th century building located on the west side of Wharf Lane. It features painted brick facades and an old tiled roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has two windows; the southern windows are early 19th century casements with glazing bars, while the northern windows are late 19th century to early 20th century reproduction leaded casements, with the upper window having a bracketed ledge. There are two doors, and the northern half of the building is a later addition. Ely Cottage is part of a group with Nos 25 to 29 (odd) Thameside and No 88 New Street, as well as part of a second group with all the listed buildings on Wharf Lane.
