Description
Mill Farmhouse is a building that was originally a mill house, likely dating back to the 16th century, with extensions added in the 18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble and features roughcast timber framing, with a roof made of plain tiles, stone slates, and pantiles, along with brick stacks. The farmhouse has a three-unit plan, including a rear outshut and a later wing, and stands two storeys tall. The main range displays rubble walls and has an irregular arrangement of windows, featuring both two-light and three-light casements. The rear of the building shows some exposed timber framing. The one-storey plus loft rear wing includes the main entrance, which has a plank door, and there is an additional entrance in the rear outshut. Inside, the first floor reveals exposed timber framing, a massive central stack with a staircase on either side, and old plank doors equipped with wooden latches and contemporary ironwork.
