Description
The Hive is a small house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels, topped with a thatched roof featuring a brick gable stack. The house has a two-unit plan and is one storey plus attics. The front faces at right angles to the road and includes a plank door, a three-light casement window to the left, and a single light window to the right. There are also two dormer windows, each with two lights. The roof has a half hipped design to the right, with the stack located on the left side. There is a lower 20th-century range added to the right. The overall appearance of the house is generally unaltered. The interior has not been inspected.
