Description
This is a barn range, which includes stables and a cartshed, located approximately 50 meters northwest of Minchincourt Farmhouse. It dates from the 18th century and is constructed of limestone rubble with ashlar dressings, featuring some weatherboarded timber framing and a plain-tile roof. The structure is a single range, consisting of one storey plus a loft.
The front of the building has a three-bay barn on the left, which includes a central porch with a weatherboarded gable. In the center, there are stables that have two stable doors and a flight of stone steps leading to a plank door, alongside a two-light casement window. To the right, there is a cartshed with a weatherboarded front that leads to the loft. The roof is half hipped to the right, and the rear of the barn features opposed full-height doors.
Inside, the barn contains 19th-century queen-post trusses supported by earlier tie beams. This building is included for its group value.
