Description

The Cottage is a small house, likely dating from the 18th century, although it may have earlier origins. It is constructed of brick on a rendered plinth, with a thatched roof and brick and rendered gable stacks. The house has a two-unit plan and comprises one storey with attics. The front elevation features two two-light casement windows, a doorway on the extreme right, and a small, inset roof dormer. A segmental-arched three-light casement window is located on the left-end wall, alongside an added stack. A further stack is situated at the right end. The roof has two rows of projecting purlins. The interior has not been inspected, but the building was probably originally timber-framed. It is included on the heritage list for its contribution to the wider group value of buildings in the area.
