Description

This is a small house located on Mill Lane in Great Haseley, dating to the 17th century, and possibly earlier, with alterations in the 18th century. The construction combines timber framing with wattle and daub and brick infill, along with limestone rubble and brick dressings, and is topped with a thatched roof and brick stacks. It follows a three-unit baffle-entry plan and has one storey with attics. The two units on the left are constructed of smaller timber framing on a rubble plinth; the right bay is 18th century rubble with brick quoins and segmental arches, and contains the entrance. There are two-light casement windows to the left and right of the entrance door, and a central three-light dormer window. The roof is half-hipped, with stacks positioned to the right of the centre and to the right gable. A single-storey extension dating to the 20th century has been added to the right. The rear of the house features a projecting bread oven. Inside, there is an open fireplace with an inglenook, plank doors, and a three-bay clasped-purlin roof.
