Description
Thame Antique Galleries, located on Thame High Street, is likely originally two houses that have been converted into a shop and a dwelling. The building dates from the mid to late 19th century and features a shop front with later additions to the right and rear, along with some 20th-century alterations. The exterior is finished with lined render, likely over brick, and has an old plain-tile roof, although the chimney stacks are not visible.
The structure is two stories tall and has a four-window range. The late 19th-century shop front consists of a two-bay design with a panelled base beneath the windows. Each bay includes central glazed double doors with overlights, flanked by plate-glass windows. The ends of each bay feature panelled pilaster-stops topped with carved brackets. There is a cornice-moulded fascia board situated between the ground and first floors. To the right, there are double plank doors leading to a carriageway. On the first floor, there are three 12-pane unhorned sash windows, and an angled oriel bay window to the right with horned sashes. The interior of the ground floor has been opened up to create a shop space.
