Description

This is a barn and subsidiary barn, likely built in the late 17th century, located approximately 20 meters northwest of Church Farmhouse in Long Wittenham. The main barn features a stone and brick base, large timber-framing, and weatherboarding, topped with a half-hipped thatched roof. It has five bays and central double plank doors, with brickwork at the rear. The roof is a queen post design, although most common rafters have been replaced. Attached at right angles to the right is a three-bay subsidiary barn, which also has a stone and brick base, large timber-framing, weatherboarding, and a thatched roof, with a queen post roof structure.
