Description
This building, known as A Piece of Cake, is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling. It dates from the early 17th century at the rear, with a front range from the mid-18th century and late 19th-century alterations. The shop front features a 19th-century glazed brick plinth, while the first floor is rendered, likely over brick. The building has an old plain-tile roof with a gable-end of a steeper roof visible above the ridge and a brick end stack on the right. It is two stories high with a single-window range. To the left, there is a six-panel, part-glazed door, and to the right, a four-panel part-glazed door with an overlight. In the center, there is a late 19th-century angled bay shop window with a carved wood cornice. Above, there is an angled bay at the first floor center with a wood mullion and transom window and a gable. The interior has not been inspected.
