Description
39 Upper High Street is a house that likely dates from the early 18th century and was refronted in the late 18th century. It features a rendered plinth and red brick construction with flared headers in Flemish bond. The roof is covered with plain tiles from the 20th century, and there is a brick stack at the rear. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range.
To the left of the center, there is a six-panel part-glazed door with a wooden architrave surround and a segmental brick head. To the right of the center, there is a five-panel part-glazed door, also with a wooden architrave surround and a segmental brick head. All openings except for one feature tripartite horned sashes with segmental brick heads; the exception is a four-pane horned sash with a segmental brick head located on the ground floor to the right. The building has a plain parapet at the eaves. The interior has not been inspected.
