Description

This is a medieval stone coffin located approximately 250 meters southwest of Baldon House. It has a tapering shape with an interior designed to accommodate the head. The coffin is set into the ground near the lake at Baldon House, where it used to be part of an artificial ruin or folly that included elements salvaged from the demolished medieval church at Nuneham Courtenay.
