Description

College Farmhouse, now a house, dates primarily to the 17th century, with an addition built in the early 19th century. It was originally timber-framed, and now has colourwashed rendered walls with a brick section on the right. The roof is tiled, with a brick ridge and a stack at the end. The building is arranged with a two-bay plan, extended to three bays. It has two storeys and a three-window front. A four-panelled door is set within a beaded architrave, flanked by segmental arches over two-light casement windows with shutters. Similar windows are located above and in the right bay. An early 19th-century sash window is in the left gable wall. A mid-20th century extension is present to the rear and right. The interior features chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, as well as winder stairs in a projection to the rear of the stack. The roof is of a two-bay queen-post design with clasped purlins.
