Description

Stone Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble, with brick quoins and vertical dressings, topped by a gabled old tile roof and featuring brick symmetrical end stacks. The building has a two-unit outshut plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. A segmental arch is present over a two-light casement in a central blocked doorway, while gauged brick flat arches are found over 20th-century three-light casements. There is a 20th-century door at the rear. Inside, the front right room features an ogee-stopped beam, and the rear left dairy has a plain beam. The cottage also includes plank doors and winder stairs. It is included for its group value.
