Description
Millhouse at Overy Mill is a building from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of red and flared brick and features an old plain-tile roof with brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and has been extended, standing two storeys plus attics high.
The front of the building has seven windows and consists of two sections. The left section includes a plinth, a storey band, flared panels between the windows, and flared headers elsewhere. It features three segmental-arched two-light casements on the ground floor, with a doorway at the extreme left, and four first-floor casements located just below a rendered band.
A high parapet connects this section to the slightly later right section, which also has three windows. This part includes flared headers, segmental arches, a storey band, and twelve-pane sash windows, along with another entrance to the left. The storey heights in the later section are greater, but both parts are unified by a continuous roof that is half-hipped to the left. This roof includes three gabled roof dormers and two stacks. At the rear, there are two small wings that project out. The interior has not been inspected. Overy Mill is located adjacent to the left of the building.
