Description

Lower Manor Farmhouse is a mid-17th-century farmhouse with a 19th-century addition to the left front. The original part of the house is timber-framed with herringbone brick infill. The left addition is red brick in a Flemish bond with grey brick headers. The roof is covered with old plain tiles, and there are brick stacks to the right end and on the ridge. The house is two storeys and an attic, with a two-window front. A four-panel door is located on the right side, sheltered by a gabled 19th-century porch. A three-light wooden casement window is in the centre, and a sixteen-pane unhorned sash window is at the end of the left addition. A lean-to roof extends from the right return of the addition. A three-light casement window is on the first floor to the right, and a twelve-pane sash window to the left. A cross-gable extends to the left, featuring fishscale tile hanging and a two-light casement window. A cross-gable is also present on the 19th-century addition to the left. A single-storey, two-window brick addition extends to the right. The interior was not inspected but is likely to be of interest.
