Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 17th century, with remodels in the mid 18th century and late 19th century. The right side features chequer bond brick, while the left wing is made of mid 18th century English bond brick. It has an old tiled roof that is gabled on the right and hipped on the left, with brick stacks at the ridge and right end. The building is L-shaped with a rear right wing and has two storeys with a three-window range. The entrance has a late 19th century six-panelled door, four of which are glazed, and a lean-to porch. There are segmental arches above the late 19th century sash windows. A string course runs along the right side, and there is a late 19th century gable built over the front left bay. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped beams, and an early 18th century fireplace with a pulvinated frieze on the right. The first floor has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest. The farmhouse was noted as "newly erected" in 1697.
