Description
Lower Farm Cottages is a farmhouse that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the mid-18th century, with a left bay added in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of Flemish bond brick and features a gabled late 19th-century tile roof, along with a brick ridge stack and a 19th-century stack at the left end. The structure has an extended four-unit plan and stands two storeys high with a three-window range. It has segmental arches over 20th-century doors and late 19th-century three-light casements, with similar casements on the first floor. There is a raised storey band, and a one-storey rear wing that has been refaced in 20th-century brick. Inside, there is a chamfered ogee-stopped beam and closed collar-trusses, as well as a chamfered beam in the rear wing. The left cottage has not been inspected.
