Description
Golder Manor is a farmhouse dating from the mid 18th century, with porch and left bay extensions added in the mid 19th century. The building is constructed of grey brick in header bond with red brick dressings, sitting on a colourwashed chalk base. The mid 19th century left bay is made from similar materials, featuring limestone dressings on the porch. The right and rear sections are built from mid 18th century chequer brick and chalk rubble. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles, with brick ridge and rear lateral stacks. The farmhouse has a double-depth plan and is two storeys high with a four-window range.
The two-storey porch features a sash window set in a keyed stone surround above a storey band, along with a round-arched doorway that has jamb shafts. Inside, there is a four-panelled inner door with a decorative overlight. The ground-floor windows have flat brick arches and the first-floor windows are eight-pane sashes. The interior reflects mid 19th century design, though the roof has not been inspected. The left bay encases a rear room that contains 17th or 18th century quartered stop-chamfered beams. The farm is located within a deserted medieval settlement.
