Description
Vine House, located approximately 40 meters northeast of Chiselhampton House, is likely from the early 19th century. It features a cast iron and glass structure with limestone ashlar. The five-sided iron structure stands against a gabled ashlar rear wall and has square uprights adorned with vine patterns, transoms decorated with guilloche ornament, and finials shaped like honeysuckle. The front has three bays with pairs of wooden glazed doors. The roof is a lean-to half-pyramid design with narrow moulded cast-iron glazing bars that curve upwards. Inside, the stanchions function as downpipes, while the transoms serve as gutters. The building is dated 1790 in the Victoria County History of Oxfordshire and in the Buildings of England: Oxfordshire.
