Description

The Turrill Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 2 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Garsington. It dates from the late 18th century and is made of limestone. The monument features a moulded plinth and a flat top with moulded edges, along with fielded panels on the sides and ends. The main panel commemorates John Turrill, who died in 1784, while the end panels commemorate later members of the Turrill family. This monument is included for its group value with the church.
