Description

No 86A on New Street is an early 19th-century cottage located behind Old Brewery House. It is constructed of red and grey brick, and while the roof is not visible, the building stands two storeys high with two windows, which are mostly sash windows featuring glazing bars. The entrance includes a six-panelled door topped with a fanlight. This cottage is listed as Grade II primarily for its group value, as it is part of a collection that includes St Mary's Parish Church and several other nearby buildings, such as Nos 1-7 Chantry House, Chantry Cottage, Nos 20 Thameside, and Nos 8-20 on Church Avenue.
