Description
The Brewery Buildings are a 16th-century structure that has been altered over time. The building features a whitened roughcast exterior over a timber frame set on a flint base, with exposed timber framing on the south-facing gable. The gable has brick infill and is plastered. It has wide flat eaves and an old tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high, with eight square louvres under the eaves and five at ground floor level. A reproduction leaded casement window is present in the gable end, contributing to its picturesque appearance.
The surface of the lane is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 7 (consecutive) Chantry House and Chantry Cottage, No 20 Thameside, Nos 8 to 20 (consecutive), the Brewery Buildings at No 86A New Street, and St Mary's Parish Church on Hart Street.
