Description
This is a late 18th-century public house, at the time of its listing. It is constructed of colourwashed brick with an old plain-tile roof and a brick gable stack. The building follows a double-depth plan. The two-storey main facade, with a stepped brick plinth, originally featured a segmental arched doorway with a canopy, which has been replaced with a window to the left, and a canted bay window to the right. The first floor features two segmental arched three-light casement windows, each with leaded lights. A lower wing to the right has a similar casement window on the first floor and a modern glazed porch. Two roof dormers are visible on the main roof. The rear of the building is complex and irregular. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of the area.
