Description
Bridge End Close is a substantial house built in 1797 and 1897, as indicated by the datestones. It is constructed of red brick with some flared headers and features an old plain-tile roof with a brick gable stack. The house has a central-stair plan and is extended in a late-Georgian style, standing two storeys plus attics.
The front of the house is symmetrical with three windows, made of flared brick in header bond, accented with red-brick dressings and gauged flat arches. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door, which is framed by an outer arch that contains the datestone in the tympanum. The outer sashes on the ground and first floors are five panes wide, while there is a three-pane sash above the door. A brick dentil eaves course runs around the building, leading to the red brick gable walls that feature pairs of narrow sashes on each floor. The mansard roof includes three dormers and has a stack on the left side. At the rear, there is a later addition with a hipped roof. The interior has not been inspected.
