Description

Hertford College's East Range dates back to 1485 and consists of two buildings. The southern building is likely the older of the two, with both structures dating to around 1605. The East Range underwent alterations in the 18th century, and the second storey was completed in 1849. Inside, the Senior Common Room features 18th-century panelling. The southern building, designed as one of the four corners of the quadrangle, was planned by Dr. Richard Newton, who served as Principal from 1740 to 1753.
