Description
Bishops Farm is an early 18th-century farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It is constructed from coursed squared limestone rubble and features a plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, plus attics. The symmetrical front has three windows, with tall two-light 20th-century casements in the outer bays, flanking a former entrance that now has a two-light casement and a narrow light above it. The ground-floor openings have renewed timber lintels, while the first-floor windows are topped with stone flat arches. There are two gabled roof dormers, a rendered gable outshut to the right, and a low rear wing. Inside, the farmhouse features chamfered beams with ogee stops and an open fireplace. It was originally designed with a central-stair plan.
