Description
The Orchard is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels. It features a Welsh-slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a three-unit through-passage plan and stands two storeys tall. The front has three windows, with a door located to the left of centre between three-light leaded casements. On the first floor, similar windows flank a two-light casement. There is a small ground-floor casement in the bay to the extreme right. The stacks are positioned at the left gable and to the left of centre. At the rear, a small wing is now encased by 19th-century brick additions. Inside, there is a stone bolection-mould fireplace, which may have been inserted later, along with chamfered beams and a large chimney that backs onto the through passage.
