Description
65 Holywell Street is a house dated 1639, although its front has likely been altered in the 18th century. It is a three-storey structure with plastered timber framing and cellars, featuring a moulded eaves cornice and a roughcast parapet. The ground floor includes a wide sash window with shutters on the west side and a coachway on the east side. The first floor has two renewed double-sashed bay windows set in wooden frames, supported by original carved wood brackets shaped like grotesque beasts. The brackets on the west side are marked "ASCS," while one on the east side and one on the west side are inscribed with "1639." The bays extend to the second floor, which has two double sash windows in moulded wood frames. At the back, there is a well-preserved gabled elevation with a roughcast staircase projection. All the listed buildings on the south side form a group.
