Description
This is a barn with attached outbuildings, built in the early 19th century, located approximately 30 meters northwest of number 89, Park Farmhouse, on Banbury Road in Kidlington. The barn is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled asbestos sheet roof. It has a five-bay plan with a central threshing floor. Inside, there is a stone-flagged threshing floor and a five-bay queen-post roof, which includes iron straps connecting the tie beams to the queen posts.
To the right of the barn are early 19th-century stables and bullock sheds dating from around 1840, also made of coursed limestone rubble. These outbuildings have a gabled stone slate roof with moulded kneelers on the stone-coped right gable. The stable on the left has timber lintels over a central door and flanking windows, along with a plank loft door set in a gabled half-dormer. The bullock shed features brick dressings around its round-arched entries and has steps leading to the loft door in the right gable end. Inside the bullock shed, there is a collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
