Description
This farmbuilding, located approximately 20 meters northeast of College Farmhouse in Market Square, is likely from the early 18th century and was altered in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone and marlstone rubble, topped with a thatch roof. The building has a 7-bay plan divided into two sections. The front, which faces the farmyard, is primarily 19th century and features segmental-arched openings along with an open-fronted area supported by wooden posts. The rear of the building has no openings. Inside, the roof consists mainly of collar trusses that support butt purlins and a ridge piece. This structure is part of a close grouping of houses and farm buildings around Market Square and is included for its group value.
