Description

LOWER HEYFORD FREEHOLD STREET SP4824 (South side) 10/64 Farmbuilding approx. 20m NE of College Farmhouse, Market Square GV II

Farmbuilding. Probably early C18, altered C19. Coursed limestone and marlstone rubble; thatch roof. 7-bay plan in 2 builds. Front, facing farmyard, is mostly C19 with segmental-arched openings plus an open-fronted section with wooden posts; rear has no openings. Interior: Roof has mostly collar trusses supporting butt purlins and a ridge piece. Part of a close grouping of houses and farmbuildings around Market Square. Included for group value.
