Description

The North Pavilion and attached walls, located approximately 40 meters northeast of the Manorhouse, is a pavilion or guesthouse dating from the early 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone with ashlar dressings and features a Stonesfield-slate roof with a stone gable stack. The building is a single range, standing two stories plus an attic.

The gable end facing the courtyard has a chamfered depressed-arched stone doorway, two small stair windows, and a large four-light stone-mullioned window beneath a sundial. The side facing the chapel garden includes three three-light mullioned windows on the first floor. The side facing away from the Manorhouse has large garage doors but retains three three-light windows on the first floor, along with a single-light window and a square-headed moulded stone doorway at ground level. The outer gable end features additional small windows and a projecting chimney, which may be an addition. All windows are adorned with hollow-chamfered mullions, labels, and leaded glazing. The gable parapets are enhanced with projecting moulded kneelers and obelisk finials.

The walls extending towards the house are approximately two meters high with a tapering rubble coping and include a four-centre arched stone doorway with recessed spandrels, leading to the chapel. The wall extending to the gatepier is about 1.5 meters high and has lost its coping. This structure is part of a fine group of buildings.
