Description
Earls Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 18th century, with origins in the 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared marlstone and features some wooden lintels. The roof is made of concrete plain tiles and Welsh slate, with brick stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and consists of two sections, standing two storeys tall.
The front of the farmhouse has a wide left bay with a five-window arrangement. At the first floor, there is a three-light 18th-century casement window, and below it, a renewed casement window, both featuring wooden lintels. The rest of the front has a regular four-window layout, with two-light first-floor casements set beneath rubble flat arches. There is a central doorway that is accessed through a 20th-century porch, with a renewed canted bay window to the left and two adjoining windows to the right, which are likely an alteration.
The left end wall of the farmhouse reveals an earlier gable line. The steep-pitched roof has stacks on both sections and features a gable parapet on the left with moulded kneelers. The interior has not been inspected.
