Description
Emlyn House is a building located on Sheep Street in Bicester, originally constructed in the early to mid-18th century, with some late 18th-century elements. It has been altered and extended in the 20th century. The structure is made of part-rendered limestone rubble, featuring some stucco dressings, and has Welsh-slate roofs with brick end stacks. The building consists of two parallel ranges that extend to the rear and stands two storeys tall.
The front facade, which is rendered, displays a three-window arrangement and is flanked by pilasters with moulded capitals. Above the modern shop fronts, there are 12-pane sash windows. The roof is steep-pitched. The rear range is shorter and has a shallower late-18th-century roof, but it also features a three-window arrangement of sashes, which are now obscured at the ground floor. The interior has not been inspected.
