Description
No. 10 Sheep Street is a house that has been converted into a bank. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century and has undergone alterations in the mid 19th century and 20th century. The building features rendered walls with stucco dressings and has a double-depth plan that has been extended. It stands three storeys tall and has a six-window front. The façade includes a plinth, storeybands, and a moulded cornice, with a rusticated ground floor. On the right side, the ground floor breaks around a full-height pilaster, while on the left, there is a five-sided full-height projection with three windows on each floor. The main doorway, located in the fourth bay, is centrally positioned and features a mid-19th century stone porch. To the right of the doorway is a blind window, and to the far right is an arched secondary entrance. The canted section has four-light sash windows, while the remaining windows feature earlier 12-pane sashes, with all first-floor windows having moulded architraves. A high plain parapet conceals the roof. The interior has not been inspected. The building was likely originally designed with a flat five-window front.
