Description
29 and 31 Sheep Street are shops and dwellings dating from the late 18th century and 19th century. The buildings are constructed from part-rendered coursed limestone rubble, brick, and feature a Welsh-slate roof. They form a single range with a central vehicular entry and have rear extensions. The buildings are two storeys high.
No. 29, located on the left, features a late 19th-century shop front with arched window heads and a recessed central door. It has two 12-pane sash windows on the first floor set into the rubble walling, and a rendered bay over the central entry that includes a 9-pane sash window. No. 31 has a 19th-century double sash window above a 20th-century shop front. The rear of No. 29 includes a small rubble range with its ridge parallel to the main range, while No. 31 has a 19th-century rear wing made of brick in Flemish bond. The interiors have not been inspected.
