Description
House, now two shops and dwellings, likely dating from the early 18th century and remodelled in the late 18th century. The walls are rendered, likely with a timber frame construction, and built with limestone rubble; the roof is covered in Welsh slate with brick stacks. The building probably originated as a two-unit lobby-entry plan, extended over what was an adjoining vehicle entry and subsequently subdivided. It has three storeys. The front facade is rendered and features three windows. There are two shop windows, each with a narrow doorway to the left. The first floor has twelve-pane sash windows, including an added bay to the right. The second floor has similar, aligned windows, except above number 65 on the left, where there is a pair of sashes. Evidence suggests a further first-floor window existed above the door to number 67. The roof is slightly higher over the right bay and has stacks to the right of each bay. The rear is constructed of limestone rubble and includes a full-height gabled stair projection. Inside, the left bay on the ground floor has a fireplace with a bressumer. The central and right-hand bays on the first and attic floors contain 18th-century panelled doors and cupboards; a fireplace with an architrave and mantelpiece is on the first floor, and a winder stair leads to the attic.
