Description

The ice well, located approximately 350 metres north-northwest of Bletchingdon Park, dates from the early 19th century. It has a circular plan with walls and a domed roof made of limestone ashlar. The front features stepped stone walls that meet to form a flat arch over the entrance, which has a semi-circular head and reveals a far door that is now missing. The side walls include small circular windows with moulded stone surrounds. Inside, the walls are lined with ashlar and have a moulded stone cornice. Stone steps lead down to the water level.
