Description
The Church of St. Olave features a group of two headstones located approximately 4 meters to the northeast of the churchyard cross. The headstones date from around 1628 and 1668 and are made of limestone and marlstone. The earlier headstone, on the left, is crafted from limestone and has a shallow shield-shaped inscription panel that includes the date 1628. The back of this stone is decorated with a shell pattern and the initials "I.A." The later headstone, designed in Baroque style, has a limestone top adorned with a winged cherub supporting swags, and a marlstone lower section that features an inscription panel between carved drops, commemorating Robert Kilby, who died in 1668.
