Description

The icehouse, located approximately 20 meters south of Sydenham House, is likely from the 18th century. It is built of coursed squared marlstone. The structure features an arched entrance on one side of the earth mound, which is partially below ground level and accessed by a flight of stone steps. Inside, there is a barrel-vaulted tunnel that leads to an egg-shaped vaulted chamber made entirely of stone. The icehouse is situated within the grounds of Adderbury House.
