Description
This is an outbuilding located approximately 30 meters southeast of the front door of Yarnton Manor. It dates from the early 17th century and was extended in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof. It has a one-unit plan and is one storey with an attic. The gable end facing the forecourt of Yarnton Manor includes a timber lintel over a 20th-century window and a moulded string course above a 17th-century two-light window, which has a central hollow-moulded mullion. There is also a blocked early 17th-century Tudor-arched doorway with sunk spandrels. The late 19th-century extension is located at the rear. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have a 17th-century chamfered beam. This building is included for its group value with Yarnton Manor.
