Description

The Old Manor House is a house dating from the mid-17th century, situated in Hampton Poyle. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with a gabled stone slate roof, and features brick ridge stacks. The original plan comprised three units. The main facade is two storeys high with a four-window arrangement. It has timber lintels over a 20th-century door positioned to the left of the centre, and modern casement windows. A hipped stair turret is located at the rear and connects to an early 19th-century two-storey gabled range constructed from similar materials.

Inside, stone-flag floors are present, along with a chamfered beam to the left and a blocked fireplace with a stop-chamfered bressumer to the right. Winder stairs lead to the rear. The first floor showcases cased beams, an 18th-century plank door to the left, and an 18th-century fielded panelled door providing access to the attic stairs. The attic stairs have an early 18th-century turned balustrade set on a closed string. Above, the attic contains a 17th-century plank door and a four-bay collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
